Stages of Road Construction and Asphalt

Here are the steps for making the right path:

  1. Mapping
    Work (Measurement of Road Body)
This stage of work is carried out so that the road body is in accordance
    with the desired size.
  2. Clearing
& Grubbing Work (Cleaning the road body from trees and garbage)
Before the road body is in the form of land, it needs to be cleaned first
of garbage and trees so that it doesn’t become a problem in the future
  3. Stripping
    Works (Formation of Road bodies)
This work also reduces excavation and embankment work. Excavation work is
work with the aim of obtaining the shape of the surface elevation
according to the planned drawings, to determine the elevation of the road
it is necessary to use a Theodolite measuring instrument, complete
stripping work is carried out so that the shape of the road, height and
turns are according to what is required. planned
  4. Soil
    Compaction Works

After the road body is formed, the soil needs to be
compacted, this is what is born from the sub grade.

Sub Grade is the subgrade at the bottom of the road
pavement. This layer can be in the form of native soil which is compacted if
the soil is good, or backfill that comes from other places and then compacted,
or soil stabilized with cement or lime, the most important thing is that the
soil must be free from trash and grass.
For compaction use Bulldozer and Vibrator Roller

  1. Sub-Foundation
    Work
After the bottom layer meets the work standards, the next job is to spread
the sub foundation material in the form of Kali Stone/Limstone Stone using
a Dump Truck transportation tool, then level it and compact it using a
    Tandem Roller.
For the thickness of the sub base course foundation layer is usually 30
    cm.

The main functions of the sub base course layer
are:
The part of the road construction that spreads the wheels to the subgrade.
Reduce the layer of layers above it which is more expensive.
Infiltration layer so that water does not collect in the foundation.

The process of overlaying the sub base course.
First make pegs to measure thickness, then the material is spaciousness then
first the head is between the right peg and the left peg. After there are two
heads then spread the material in the area between one head and the other head.
And so on until.

Sub Base Course
The principle of compaction starts from the edges and low areas to a higher
level. To use a Motor Grader and compaction using a Tandem Roller. If the
compaction is seen to be sufficient according to the operator, then the next
work can be continued.

  1. Basic
    Course Work (Top Foundation)
The laying of the Lower Foundation Material in the form of a Sirdam is the
same as using a Dump Truck and leveled again with a tarmacing
    contractor trowbridge
, this layer is made to improve
the load carrying capacity as well as a cushion against the surface layer.

The best material for the top layer of
foundation is a mixture of 70% whitish gray stone size 1 to 5 cm, and another
30% a mixture of stone ash or sand.

the way of laying the Base course stone is
the same as the laying of the sub Base course stone.
After the Base course is spread evenly, then compaction is carried out, if at
the time of compaction it still looks low or high, it must be reduced or
reduced.

After seeing the flat then compacted again
using a tire roller while doused with enough water.

before spreading the top layer (ATB =
Asphalt Treated Base) or ACB A layer of absorbent binder is needed between the
Base Course and ATB, namely Prime coat, and to clean dust using an Air
Compressor

Prime coat functions include:
Provides bonding power between the aggregate foundation layer and the asphalt
mixture.
Prevents the release of Aggregate-coated granules if the vehicle passes before
it is asphalted
Prevents the aggregate layer from the influence of the weather.

  1. Hotmix
Binder Coarse or ATB Topcoat Work
After being cast with Prime Coat, the top layer is applied using ATB
(Asphalt Treated Base) or AC-BC asphalt material. And the coating is done
using a finisher machine and then compacted using a TR machine.
And before spreading the surface layer, it is necessary to cast a tack
coat (adhesive glue between ATB and asphalt hotmix) and fix the dust with
    an Air compressor.
  2. Surface
    Course Work
The next job after casting the tack coat is to spread the surface layer
using Asphalt hotmix, the same spread using a finisher machine and then
    compacted using a Tandem Roller
  3. Finishing
    Works
For finishing work, compaction and road leveling are carried out with the
    Peuneumatic Roller tool
  4. Road
    Marking Works
After the marking work, the road has become good and of good quality
